Components of PM Kusum Yojana

The three components of PM Kusum Yojana are as follows:

A- Components

  • These networks will be built by farmers, cooperatives, farmer organizations, panchayats, Water User Associations (WUA), and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO). 
  • Under this idea, workers would develop 10,000 MW of decentralized renewable energy power plants that are grid-connected on unused land.
  • Power projects will be constructed within a 5-kilometer radius of the substation.

B- Components

  • The pumps, which can provide up to 7.5 HP, will take the place of current diesel farm pumps.
  • Under this programme, farmers would receive assistance in installing standalone solar agricultural pumps costing Rs. 17.50 lakh.
  • Financial support will only be provided until the capacity reaches 7.5 HP, even if it may be higher.

C- Components

  • At a predetermined price, extrasolar energy will be sold to India’s distribution firms (DISCOMs).
  • This programme helps individual farmers solarize pumps that has already connected to the grid in order to solarize 10 lakh agriculture pumps.
