Expansion Under Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Scheme
On 10th November 2023, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu launched the Magalir Urimai Scheme. Through the scheme, 7.35 lakh women will be benefited who were rejected in the first phase under the scheme. The government is going to provide monthly financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month to 1.14 crore women. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has also said that the government has sent the reason via text message to the rejected applicants and allowed them to appeal as well. The application will be considered after the field checks by the official under this scheme. This scheme has been announced in March 2023. The Chief Minister mentioned on the launch of the scheme that nearly 1 crore women will be benefited under this scheme. Keeping this in mind the chief Minister has also distributed debit cards to the beneficiaries to withdraw the money
