ADITI Scheme Launched During DefConnect 2024 was launched by the Defence Minister of India. The Finance Minister of India Mr Rajnath Singh along with the Ministry of Defence announced the launch of the Acing Development of Innovative Technologies with iDEX (ADITI) scheme during the DefConnect event in New Delhi 2024. Under this Scheme, start-ups are eligible to receive a grant-in-aid of up to INR 25 crore for their research development and innovation endeavours in defence technology, the defence ministry said in a statement. The scheme will nurture the innovation of youth, and help the country leap forward in the field of technology

About DefConnect 2024

The Defence Minister of India Mr Rajnath Singh along with the whole Defence Ministry inaugurated the DefConnect 2024. The DefConnect 2024 was organised by the Innovation for Defence Excellence, Defence Innovation Organisation (iDEX-DIO). DefConnect 2.0 aims to provide iDEX-DIO innovators the opportunity to showcase their capabilities, products and cutting-edge technologies. During the DefConnect 2024 event, the Defence Minister of India announced the launch of the ADITI scheme will increase the defence technology of India significantly.

Rajnath Singh Launched ADITI Scheme

To strengthen the defence of India and encourage the youth of India for their innovations the Defence Minister of India Mr Rajnath Singh launched the ADITI Scheme. This scheme will provide financial assistance to all the startup firms in India so that they can continue their Research and innovations that will help the Defence Ministry of India in future. According to the Finance Ministry of India, the financial aid that will be provided to the startups is INR 25 crores for their inventions and innovations in defence Technology. This scheme came to make India self-dependent in the field of Defence technology and innovations.

The objective of ADITI Scheme

The main objective of launching the ADITI Scheme is to encourage the youth of India to engage in defence technology and innovations. The Defence Ministry of India aims to make all the defence technology in India that will help them save a lot of money. Under this scheme, which falls under the iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) framework of the Department of Defence Production (DDP), Ministry of Defence, about Rs 750 crore has been allocated for the period 2023-24 to 2025-26. Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be up permanent resident of India.
  • For startups, defined and recognized by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
  • For MSME companies, any Indian company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956/2013, primarily a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) as defined in the MSME Act, 2006.
  • For individual innovators, individual innovators are also encouraged to apply (research & academic institutions can use this category to apply).
