Objective Of Baal Aadhaar Card
The objective of the Government of India behind issuing a Baal Aadhar card is to provide a unique identity to every citizen of the country by birth. Children of age 0 to 5 years will get a Baal Aadhar card. The authority will issue a unique Identity to the child which acts as photo ID proof. Parents can apply for the Baal Aadhar card without biometrics. The mandatory biometric update is required once the children attain the age of 5 years.
Baal Aadhar implementation
The Baal Aadhar card is similar to the Aadhar card. It’s only that a Baal Aadhar card is issued to children of age 0 to 5 years. Once the children attain five years of age he/ she has to update their biometrics. According to the ministry of electronics and it by the end of 31st March 2022 the authorities have issued the Baal Aadhar to 26.4 million children. This number increase by 234.3 million by the end of July 2022. In Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, the target has already covered approximately 70% of the targeted age group. Whereas issuance of Baal Aadhar in other states and union territories including Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep has been started.

Baal Aadhaar Card Application Procedure: online
- To apply for Baal Aadhar Card, you have to visit the Baal Aadhaar website of the Unique Identification Authority of India, Government of India
- From home page of the portal, you need to click on get Aadhar option
- A new page will open on the screen from where you have to select book an appointment
- Now you need to choose new Aadhar and then enter your mobile number along with capture code shown on the screen
- Press generate OTP button and you will receive an OTP via SMS
- Enter the OTP in the given space and press verify button
- Now you have to choose a date of your appointment
- Select the nearest Aadhar centre for your appointment along with other requirement shown on the screen
- Press summit button and you will receive a confirmation of your appointment on your register mobile number
- Visit the Aadhar centre and complete the application procedure
- You will receive the Aadhaar Card within 60 days at your postal address you mentioned

Application procedure: offline
- To get the Baal Aadhar Card you need to visit your nearest Aadhar suvidha Kendra

- From the home page of the portal, you need to visit my Aadhar
- A drop-down list will open on the screen go to the update your Aadhar section and choose to check Aadhar updates status

- Enter the capture code and hit submit button
