Various Programs Offered by the Kerala Social Security Mission

Children’s Cancer Suraksha

This programme was established to offer cancer treatment to young patients. According to this plan, the Hospital will use money allocated under the mission to cover the whole cost of treatment, including the cost of the inquiry. The initial cap on per-child costs would be Rs. 50000, but the hospital might incur additional costs as needed. Beneficiaries may directly benefit from this programme through the hospitals.

Snehapoorvam for Children

Around 75000 children under the age of 18 are living in orphanages, according to Snehapoorvam for Children. The Kerala State Government has introduced Snehapoorvam for all of those kids. The orphans receive financial aid under this plan. To improve the children’s quality of life, the government offers cash aid ranging from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 each month. Thalolam for Children

This programme was established by the Keralan government to offer free medical care to kids with chronic illnesses like haemophilia, cerebral palsy, and others. Under this programme, all children under the age of 18 will receive free medical care. Under this programme, a one-time grant of Rs. 50,000 would give. Aswasakiranam for the elderly and the disabled

Most people with physical or mental disabilities need caregivers who are their family members or close friends. Under this programme, the government will grant carers who are unable to find employment to support themselves a monthly financial aid of Rs 600. This programme is introduces by the government on August 2, 2010. Beginning on August 2, 2010, all residents who provide medical care to patients will pay a monthly financial assistance fee.

Hunger free City for chronic illness

The Hunger Free City programme has been established to offer free rice-based lunches with vegetable curries to patients with chronic illnesses in hospitals or other designated sites. The general public, including onlookers, will have this lunch at no charge. This programme has been implemented to make sure that no city resident misses at least one square meal every day.

Vayomithram for senior citizens

Senior citizens living in a corporation or municipal areas of the state who are older than 65 years old will receive health care and support through the Vayomithram for Senior Citizens programme. Karunya Deposit For Differently Abled

This programme was established to raise money for the medical and educational needs of people with physical and mental disabilities who attend special schools or who are residents of institutions such as orphanages. Depositors who are willing to deposit at least one lakh rupees or an amount greater as a corporate social responsibility fund are drawn to this scheme. This sum will be deposited into the state treasury for 12 months, renewed yearly. The government’s contribution of the equivalent amount plus interest will be utilised to support the children’s special needs.

Prathyasha for Women

The government has started the Prathyasha programme to help families who are having trouble paying for their daughters’ weddings. In essence, it is a partnership between private individuals, businesses, and Kerala’s social security mission. The costs of their daughters are out of reach for poor families. This programme has started to aid such families. The beneficiary of this programme will receive Rs. 50,000 in marriage aid, which will be funded by private donors, businesses, and the Kerala Social Security Mission. The beneficiary’s annual household income must be less than Rs. 60,000 to qualify for this programme.

Snehasanthwanam for differently abled/chronic illness-

The carers of endosulfan victims who are completely bedridden or mentally retarded receive monthly financial help of Rs 700 under the Snehasanthwanam for Differently Abled/Chronic Illness programme. In addition, bedridden endosulfan victims receive Rs 2200. Endosulfan victims who are bedridden and receiving a disability pension of Rs 300 will get Rs 1700. The district collector has provided a list, and Rs 1200 would be handed to endosulfan victims on that basis. The financial aid will start to be given out in December 2010. Children of endosulfan-affected families will also receive educational aid through this programme. Children attending Buds School get a financial aid package worth Rs 2000.

Samashwasam for chronic illness

This programme has been introduced to care for and safeguard the more vulnerable members of our community. The beneficiaries of this programme receive cash support. Through this programme, renal patients from BPL families who receive at least one monthly treatment of dialysis would receive financial support of Rs. 1100. The applicant must have a nationalised bank account in order to profit from the programme.

  • The candidate must reside in Kerala permanently.

  • For those children who fall under the APL category, the yearly family income must be less than Rs 20000 in rural regions and Rs 22375 in urban areas. 
  • The applicant must be a BPL category student and have lost either their father or their mother, or both.

  • The candidate must be a permanent resident of Kerala and must be younger than 18 years old.
Aswasakiranam for senior citizens and those with disabilities
  • Bedridden patients are eligible for the program; applicants must fall under the definition of “below the poverty line.” People with mental disabilities are also eligible to apply.

  • This programme is open to all citizens.

  • A company or municipality must decide the applicant’s age, which must be greater than 65.
