The Umbrella Scheme for Safety of Women 2024 was approved by the Union Cabinet of India. To provide protection and a safe living environment for all the female citizens of India the Government of India along with the Union Cabinet of India announce the continuation of the Umbrella Scheme for Safety of Women 2024. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for the continuation of the implementation of the scheme on ‘Safety of Women’ at a total cost of Rs.1179.72 crore during the period from 2021-22 to 2025-26.

The central government of India has announced the continuation of the Umbrella Scheme for Safety of Women 2024 to safeguard the normal lives of female citizens. The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has set up a total budget of INR 1179.72 crores for the implementation of the scheme. From the total budget, INR 885.49 crore will be provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the rest of the INR .294.23 crore will be funded by the Nirbhaya Fund. The Government of India aims to strengthen the laws and make quick redressal for all the complaints filed by female citizens.

The main objective of launching the Umbrella Scheme for Safety of Women is to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for all the female citizens of India. The Government of India will strengthen the government laws for women’s safety in India. The central government has urged all the state governments of India to set up a women’s help desk in every police station and an emergency number for all crimes against women. With the help of the scheme, the government will safeguard every female citizen of India by setting up various helpline numbers and other benefits.
