What is Odisha KALIA Yojana

KALIYA Yojana was developed to provide small and marginal farmers with financial support for their livelihood, agriculture, home, and income development. This KALIA Scheme will help marginal farmers, who own less than 1 hectare of land, and small farmers, who own between 1 and 2 hectares of land. KALIA Yojana’s main objective is to offer farmers a complete and flexible support system. This Yojana benefits nearly all impoverished farmers and 92 percent of growers in Odisha. Direct benefit transfer will be used to distribute this scheme’s benefits. To aid the underprivileged residents of the state, this yojana was established. The way of life of farmers, especially vulnerable farmers, must also be changed. Farmers may purchase seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, and other investments with the help of this yojana.

Objective of Odisha KALIA Yojana

Since most farmers in our nation are dissatisfied with the amount of revenue they were able to create, Kalia Yojana’s primary goal is to help the farmers in the state of Odisha. Additionally, it’s likely that the cash earned is insufficient to meet all of their needs and wants, let alone pay for their children’s education. As a result, the Kalia Yojana will assist all farmers in meeting their needs and goals and in obtaining loans for a variety of reasons, including their children’s education.

Benefits of Scheme

Following are the benefits that are provided by the government under the KALIYA Yojana:

Cultivation Assistants

Every farm family would get monetary assistance of Rs 25,000 to aid with the cost of labour or other investments, as well as to buy seeds, fertilizer, and pesticides. From the Rabi season 2018-19 forward, this funding mechanism will be utilized. For five seasons, small and marginal farmers will get financial assistance.

Assistance in Obtaining a Living

For agriculturally related activities such goat raising units, microlayer units, fishing kits for fishers, mushroom cultivation, beekeeping, duckery units, and so on, financial assistance of Rs 12,500 would be provided to each landless agricultural household. The SC and ST populations in the state will especially benefit from this initiative.

Vulnerable Agricultural Household

Cash assistance of Rs 10,000/- per family would be provided to vulnerable farmers and landless agricultural labourers who are elderly, have disabilities or illnesses, etc. so they may take care of their sustenance.
