Karnataka Shuchi Scheme 2024: Free Sanitary Pads for Girls

The Karnataka state government launched the Karnataka Shuchi Scheme 2024. To help the female citizens of the Karnataka state studying in schools and colleges the Karnataka state government launched the Karnataka Shuchi 2024. Under the Karnataka Shuchi Scheme 2024, the Karnataka state government will provide free sanitary pads to all the female citizens of the Karnataka state. The Karnataka Health Department will provide free sanitary napkins to around 19 lakh girls (aged 10 to 18 years) in government and aided schools and colleges across the state. All the applicants who are studying in schools and colleges aged between the age group of 10 to 18 years are eligible to avail the benefits of Shuchi Scheme 2024.

What is Karnataka Shuchi Scheme?

To increase menstrual hygiene In the Karnataka state among the female citizens the Karnataka state government announced the launch of the Karnataka Shuchi Scheme. The Karnataka state government has relaunched the Karnataka Shuchi Yojana after its inactivation for 4 years in the Karnataka state. The Karnataka state government aims to provide free sanitary pads to all the female citizens of the Karnataka state who are studying in schools and colleges across the state. The Health Department will directly deliver sanitary napkins to the schools which will be distributed to the girl. Each kit would have 10 sanitary napkins in a pack.

The main objective of launching the Karnataka Shuchi Scheme is to increase awareness about periods among female students in the Karnataka state. The health minister of Tamilnadu State Mr Dinesh Gundu Rao said this scheme is important for the hygiene and health of girl students. The Minister also emphasized that menstruation is a natural process and that there is no need for girls to be hesitant about this. There are some superstitions attached to it and it is important to get rid of them and create awareness about cleanliness. Each kit that the applicants will receive has 10 sanitary pads.
