For this purpose, the KERALA SOCIAL SECURITY MISSION, UNDER THE SOCIAL JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, with technical assistance from the HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE DEPARTMENT, launched MITTAYI, a comprehensive social support project for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes mellitus.  Mitayyi Scheme Kerela will financially assist diabetic patients.

Objective of Mitayyi Scheme Kerela 2024

The goal of the Mittayi scheme Kerela is to give complete care and assistance to all children and adolescents with T1DM who have insufficient resources to support their treatment and care. Eligibility Criteria

• The beneficiary (child/adolescent) must be under the age of 18. However, the screening committee would be permitted to approve exceptions on a case-by-case basis if it believes there are strong technical reasons to justify an exemption.
• The applicant’s annual family income should be less than Rs.2 lakhs.
• The applicant/parent must be a legal resident of Kerala.
• An empaneled doctor (under the program) must certify the child/adolescent’s T1DM diagnosis and suggested therapy schedule under the project.
