The Government of Assam has launched Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan. This scheme is financial assistance that aims to foster entrepreneurship, promoting self-efficiency and self-employment. Under the scheme, a sum of 2 lakh rupees is provided to the beneficiaries to develop their self-employment business. Around 2 lakh individuals will be benefited from this scheme. The government has opened the registration under this scheme on 8th December 2023. This scheme will generate employment which will improve the standard of living of the beneficiaries. The government will spend around Rs 4000 crore for the implementation of this scheme

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a permanent resident of Assam
• The applicant should be an unemployed degree-holder
• The minimum qualification to get the benefit of the scheme of Class 10th
• The age criteria for all applicants is said to be 28 years, with per age limit being 40 years for the general category and 43 for ST, SC, and OBC applicants

• Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan has been launched in order to provide employment opportunities to the unemployed citizens of the state
• Under the scheme unemployed degree holders will get financial assistance of 2 lakh for self-employment
• Out of the 2 lakh, 1 lakh will be subsidy and the remaining amount will be payable without interest
