TSRTC free bus for ladies has been launched by the government of Telangana. Under the scheme free travel facility for girls and women of all age groups and transgender people will be available. Under the scheme girls and women of all age groups and transgender persons will be able to travel within the boundaries of the state free of cost. The Government of Telangana will reimburse the expenditure to TSRTC towards chargeable fare which would have been collected based on the actual distance traveled by women passengers. This scheme will be implemented from 9th December 2023. The software will also be developed based on the Mahalakshmi smart card. This scheme will help women travel from one place to another without worrying about financial expenditure. With the implementation of the scheme, the financial condition of women will also be improved.

Mahalakshmi Scheme under TSRTC Free Bus for Ladies

The Government of Telangana launched the Mahalaxmi Scheme under the TSRTC free bus for ladies on 9th December 2023. This is one of the first 6 guarantee schemes that the government has promised to launch. Under this scheme free bus travel facility will be provided to women in the TSRTC buses of the state. All the domiciles of Telangana who are women and transgender will be able to benefit from the scheme. The government released an order to implement this scheme on 8th December 2023. Women belonging to all age groups will be able to benefit of this scheme. The vice chancellor of TSRTC will make the arrangements to develop a software-based Mahalaxmi smart card. To get the benefit of the scheme the women are required to provide valid identity cards confirming their residence proof and to receive a zero ticket.
