Overview of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups Mission 2024

The central government in the budget 2023-24 has announced the PM PVTG development mission. This mission is majorly aimed at improving the socio-economic condition of the citizens particularly the tribal groups by providing basic facilities and habitation to the beneficiaries. Under this scheme, safe housing, clean drinking water, and sanitation will be provided to the beneficiaries along with improved access to education, health, and nutrition. The government will also focus on providing sustainable livelihood opportunities under the scheme. The Government of India has allocated a budget of 24000 crore for the implementation of this scheme. The Ministry of tribal affairs will be the nodal agency for the implementation of this scheme

Number of Beneficiaries Under PM PVTG Scheme

• According to the officials, there are 75 PVTG in 18 states and union territories who are living in 2254 villages which are spread across 220 districts. These villages have a population of around 28 lakh tribal people
